USA November 2014 (Updated)

The Model S is now #3

Softening Edition

9.555 plug-ins were sold in the US last month, which is the second month below the 10.000 units per month, but fear not, December is usually a strong month and it's also the last month of the quarter, so expect Tesla to present record sales to help numbers in the final month of the year.

Toyota and Ford keep on dragging down the market, while the Model S (Some 1.200 units sold) is now the YTD #3.

Looking at the monthly models ranking, there's no real news, the Leaf continues in good health, the Chevy Volt is waiting for Gen2, the BMW i3 is a bit down due to production constraints and the other two are in cruise speed.

In the YTD ranking, besides the aforementioned switch in #3, there were other changes in the second half of the table, the Cadillac ELR (155 units) had a rare good news, rising to #11, while the recent newcomers are starting to jump places, with the Mercedes B-Class ED finally selling in decent numbers (193 units) and jumping to #15 and the BMW i8 (126 units) up to #16.

There's a new model in the ranking, with the Porsche Cayenne Plug-In selling 45 units in its first sales month, it will be interesting to see how it behaves regarding the Panamera brother, as it can be an indication on how much sales will the Tesla Model X obtain and if it will hurt the numbers of its regular sedan relative, aka Model S.

Looking at the manufacturers ranking, Nissan (25% Share) continues head and shoulders above the rest of the competition, with Ford following in Second Place with 19% share and Chevrolet in Third (17%).
